The aim of this course is to acquire methods to make use of what students have learnt in graduate school when they become teachers or other professions in the future. Specifically, the course aims to develop an understanding of the differences between what students learn (or teachers talk about) through textbooks and various teaching materials and Japanese history as an academic discipline, and to acquire basic methodologies on how to optimise the latter for the former.
Based on an understanding of the differences between what students learn (or teachers talk about) through textbooks and various teaching materials and what is being researched in the academic world of Japanese history, we will consider the possibility of renewing the content aspect of history education.

日本史学の研究方法を習得し、主に高等学校での日本史教育とのかかわりを論じることを目的とする。将来教職等に就いたときに、大学院で学んだ内容を活かすための方法を身につけることも目指している。

教科書や各種の教材を通じて生徒が学ぶ（あるいは教師が語る）内容について、学術としての日本史学の世界で研究されている内容を調査し、両者の差異を理解した上で、歴史教育の内容面での刷新の可能性を考える。
