The aim of this course is to deepen students' understanding of the issues and methods of research on contemporary Japanese history through reading historical documents and important literature, and to place them in the context of their own research projects.
This course will deal with various issues related to contemporary Japanese history, focusing on the political history, history of social movements, and regional history of Japan in the second half of the 20th century. In addition, students will be given opportunities to present their individual research as appropriate and to prepare for writing their dissertations.

日本現代史研究の課題や方法について、史料及び重要文献を読みながら理解を深め、各自の研究課題の中に位置づけることを目指す。
The aim of this course is to deepen students' understanding of the issues and methods of research on contemporary Japanese history through reading historical documents and important literature, and to place them in the context of their own research projects.
20世紀後半の日本の政治史・社会運動史・地域史を中心に、日本現代史に関する諸問題を扱う。このほか、適宜個人研究発表の機会を設け、論文執筆に向けた準備を進める。
