The goal of this course is to acquire and apply research methodologies from an East Asian perspective, specifically for the study of Chinese Buddhist history and Buddhist textual sources. In Japan, a substantial collection of documents related to Chinese Buddhism and literature has been preserved in the form of manuscripts and printed editions, some of which are invaluable historical materials lost in China. Recently, these materials have become more accessible through digital databases and digitized images. This course aims to train students in utilizing these textual sources for advanced research on Chinese history, with a particular focus on Buddhist history.
Through the process of transcribing and editing the manuscript of Wakan Nendaiki, an important cultural property of Japan, students will deepen their understanding of Chinese Buddhist history and develop advanced research methodologies. In addition, students will examine the multifaceted relationship between royal authority and Buddhism.

文献学・文献史学研究のスキルを身につけて、成果としてアウトプットすることを意識しながら受講してほしい。
東アジアの視点から中国仏教史や仏教文献資料を研究することを目標とする。日本には、中国の仏教や文学に関する多くの文献が写本・版本の形で保存されており、その中にはすでに中国では失われた貴重な歴史資料も含まれている。近年、これらの資料はデジタルデータベースやデジタル化された画像を通じて、より利用しやすくなった。本講義では、これらの文献資料を活用し、中国史、特に仏教史の高度な研究を行う能力を養うことを目指す。
本課程的目標是從東亞視角學習和應用研究方法，特別是用於研究中國佛教史和佛教文獻資料。在日本，保存了大量與中國佛教和文學相關的文獻，這些文獻以手稿和刻本的形式存在，其中一些是已經在中國失傳的寶貴歷史資料。近年來，這些資料通過數字數據庫和數字化圖像變得更加易於獲取。本課程旨在培養學生利用這些文獻資料進行中國歷史研究，特別是佛教史的高級研究。

日本の重要文化財『和漢年代記』（写本）を翻刻・校訂する作業を通じて、中国仏教史の知識と研究方法を身につける。王権と宗教（仏教）の多角的な関係について考察・検討する。
通過翻刻和校訂日本重要文化財《和漢年代記》手稿的過程，學生將加深對中國佛教史的理解，並培養高級研究方法。此外，学生還將探討王權與佛教之間多維度的關係。
Through the process of transcribing and editing the manuscript of Wakan Nendaiki, an important cultural property of Japan, students will deepen their understanding of Chinese Buddhist history and develop advanced research methodologies.
