This course aims to conduct an empirical exploration of the history of the East Eurasian Sphere, encompassing Japan, Inner Asia, East Asia, Southeast Asia, and South Asia.
Master’s program students are expected to gain an overview of the history of the East Eurasian region and situate their own research topics within this context.
Doctoral program students are expected to develop the ability to analyze and interpret primary historical sources related to the history of the East Eurasian Sphere.
Students will delve deeper into their individual research topics, situate them within the East Eurasian Sphere, and present their findings during seminars. The course will also involve selecting intriguing sections from Zheng Shun Gong’s *A Mirror of Japan* (*Riben Yijian*), decoding these passages, and attempting Japanese translations.
Master’s program students will present and discuss their research topics as part of the preparation for their master’s thesis.
Doctoral program students will aim to complete manuscripts for submission to peer-reviewed academic journals, presenting and discussing their content during seminars.

東ユーラシア圏域（日本、内陸アジア・東アジア・東南アジア・南アジア）の歴史を、実証的に探究する。
博士課程前期課程の大学院生は、東ユーラシア圏域史の概要を理解し、そのなかに各自の研究テーマを位置づける。
博士課程後期課程の大学先生は、東ユーラシア圏域史に関する基本的な史料を読解する力を身につける。

各自の研究テーマを掘り下げ、東ユーラシア圏域のなかに位置づけ、演習において報告する。東ユーラシア圏域史に関する史料を読解するとともに、正確な日本語訳を試みる。
博士課程前期課程の院生は、修士論文の作成に向けて、各自の研究テーマについて演習で報告し、討議する。
博士課程後期課程の院生は、査読のある学術誌向け投稿論文の完成をめざし、その内容を報告し討議する。
