This class aims to reevaluate key issues in historical studies through comprehensive reading of Japanese translations of seminal and influential works that have led to major shifts in historical interpretations. It also strives to develop the ability to place one’s own research topic and its significance within a broader intellectual context.
Martin Bernal’s Black Athena I: The Afroasiatic Roots of Classical Civilization will be read closely in class, with careful attention given to researching the issues discussed in each subsection as the reading progresses.

This class aims to reevaluate key issues in historical studies through comprehensive reading of Japanese translations of seminal and influential works that have led to major shifts in historical interpretations. マーティン・バナール『ブラック・アテナ1：古代ギリシア文明のアフロ・アジア的ルーツ』を講読する。小節ごとに言及される事項についても調べながら精読してゆく。
