The aim of this course is to provide guidance in the development and writing of research proposals, as well as master’s and doctoral theses, grounded in the theoretical and methodological foundations of cultural anthropology.
Anthropological work is to elucidate universal principles common to human beings from the local facts observed by fieldwork. For this purpose, anthropologists immerse themselves in the local societies, disassembling their own thinking frameworks, and constructing a new way of reality based on ethnographic descriptions. In this course, guidance will be provided in accordance with each student’s specific research interests and stage of progress, with reference to anthropological theories and methodologies as appropriate.

本講義の目標は、文化人類学を理論的・方法論的な基礎とする研究計画や修士・博士論文の作成・執筆を指導する。

人類学者の職人仕事は、フィールドワークによって観察された局地的な事実の中に、人類に共通する広く普遍的な原理を見つけ出すことである。そのために、調査対象となる社会に没入し、自身の思考枠組みを解体しながら、新たな現実のありかたを民族誌の記述によって構築する。本講義では、必要に応じて文化人類学の理論や方法論を参照しながら、学生の具体的な研究関心・研究進捗に合わせた指導を行う。
