The objectives of this class are as follows.
(1) Students will be exposed to the latest knowledge in the history of educational thought and the study of educational philosophy.
(2) Students understand the need for academic and historical research on modern Buddhism and education.
Students will read research books that will expose them to current topics in the study of the history of educational thought. This year, in order to pursue issues surrounding modern Buddhism and education, we will be lecturing on literature related to the Araragi school of poets and modern Buddhism.

（1）教育思想史、教育哲学研究の最新の知見に触れる。
（2）近代仏教と教育をめぐる学説史的研究の必要性を理解する。

教育思想史研究の最新トピックに触れるための研究書を読む。今年度は近代仏教と教育をめぐる問題を追究するため、アララギ派の歌人と近代仏教に関する文献を講読する。
Students will read research books that will expose them to current topics in the study of the history of educational thought. This year, in order to pursue issues surrounding modern Buddhism and education, we will be lecturing on literature related to the Araragi school of poets and modern Buddhism.
