Students will acquire enough knowledge to be able to explain the expansion of the modern Japanese education system.
Modern Japan's educational system was not only formed by schools under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Education based on various school ordinances.Typical examples are as follows.
①Night middle schools and night girls' middle schools in the form of various schools, youth training centers, and private schools that are not part of the formal school system.
②Secondary and higher education level schools owned by ministries other than the Ministry of Education, such as the Ministry of Railways, the Ministry of Communications, the Ministry of War, and the Ministry of the Navy.
③Diverse examination systems that bypass the formal school system.
By gaining knowledge about these things, students will deepen their understanding of the spread of the modern Japanese education system.

近代日本の教育制度の広がりについて説明できること。
Students will acquire enough knowledge to be able to explain the expansion of the modern Japanese education system.
近代日本の教育制度は、諸学校令に基づく文部省所管の学校のみで形成されていたわけではない。代表的なものは、以下の3点である。
①正規の学校制度には位置づかない各種学校・青年訓練所・私塾の形態で授業を行う夜間中学・夜間女学校。
②鉄道省・逓信省・陸軍省・海軍省など文部省以外の省庁が持っていた中等・高等教育程度の学校。
③正規の学校制度のバイパスとなる多様な検定制度。
これらについて知見を得ることで、近代日本の教育制度の広がりについて理解を深めてもらう。
