1. To deepen academic understanding of various issues concerning Sino-Japanese words and kanji in Japanese linguistics.
2. To critically examine previous studies and apply their analytical perspectives to the student's own research.
This course examines various issues concerning Sino-Japanese words and kanji in Japanese linguistics and related fields. While Sino-Japanese words are highly integrated into the Japanese linguistic system, they also retain aspects of linguistic distinctiveness. The course explores these characteristics from both diachronic and synchronic perspectives, and further considers them from the viewpoints of language education and society.
In the spring semester, students will read and discuss academic papers related to the course themes to deepen their understanding of key issues. In the autumn semester, building on this foundation, students will independently analyze linguistic phenomena and related issues. At the same time, students are expected to critically examine the research questions and argumentation of the papers and apply these analytical perspectives to their own research.
Each class will be conducted in a seminar format, consisting of an introductory lecture by the instructor followed by student presentations and group discussion moderated by the instructor.

事前に論文を熟読し、テーマ設定や論証過程を批判的に考察する（各回２時間程度）。加えて、発表担当回には、発表の準備を行う。授業後には、全体での議論をふまえ、論文の概要とそれに対する考察を文章にまとめる。関連の資料や論文等にあたり、自身の観点でテーマを掘り下げる（各回２時間程度）。

１．日本語学における漢語・漢字をめぐる諸問題について、学術的理解を深める。
２．先行研究としての論文を批判的に検討し、その分析視点を自身の研究に応用する。

日本語学及び関連分野における漢語・漢字をめぐる諸問題について考察する。漢語は日本語の体系の中に高度に融合した側面と、なお異質性を保持する側面とを併せ持っている。本授業では、こうした特性を通時的・共時的観点から観察するとともに、言語教育および社会的視点からも検討する。
春学期には、当該テーマに関する論文の講読を行い、問題の所在についての理解を深める（秋学期には、それを踏まえて、言語現象および関連する諸問題を受講者自らが分析する）。あわせて、論文における問題設定や論証過程を批判的に考察し、その視点を各自の研究に活かすことを目指す。
授業は、講師による解説の後、各回、担当者による発表および全体討議（司会は講師）を中心とした演習形式で進める。
This course examines various issues concerning Sino-Japanese words and kanji in Japanese linguistics and related fields.
