We will aim to become familiar with nineteenth-century French literary works and learn the art of reading it.
We will conduct close readings of representative 19th-century literary works. For now, we are considering works such as Gustave Flaubert's L'Education sentimentale (1869) and Charles Baudelaire's Les Fleurs du Mal (1857), but the final selection will be determined in consultation with the students. Additionally, alongside textual analysis, we will read representative critiques of the works to serve as an initiation into literary studies and criticism. While developing your ability to interpret literary works, I also want you to cultivate your own approach to literary research.

十九世紀フランスの文学作品に親しみ、その読解の技術を学ぶ。
We will aim to become familiar with nineteenth-century French literary works and learn the art of reading it.
十九世紀の代表的な文学作品を精読する。とりあえずギュスターヴ・フローベール『感情教育』（1869）やシャルル・ボードレール『悪の華』（1857）といった作品を考えているが、最終的には受講者と相談して、取り上げる作品を決める予定である。また、テクストの読解と並行して、扱う作品についての代表的な批評を読むことにより、文学研究や批評へのイニシエーションとしたい。文学作品の読解力を伸ばしながら、同時に自分なりの文学研究のアプローチを身につけてほしい。
