The goals of this course are to
・understand the overview of kanbun-kundoku-ho (methods of reading classical Chinese writings in ancient Japanese).
・apply knowledge of kanbun-kundoku-ho to reading Chinese materials.
・recognize the significance of kanbun-kundoku-ho in the history of civilizations.
This course will proceed with two topics in parallel:
・By examining detailed readings that apply the kanbun- kundoku-ho to actual reading comprehension, students will experientially grasp the mechanisms through which the original text's meaning is understood under this approach. At the same time, they will solidify knowledge of vocabulary and grammar mentioned in the explanatory texts and acquire various rules for reading classical Chinese.
・When viewed as a form of contact between different languages, what characteristics did the kanbun-kundoku-ho possess, and what effects did it bring about? We will critically examine the findings of prior research through lectures and participant reports.

授業では２つの柱を立て、並行的に進めて行く。
・漢文訓読法を実際の文章読解に適用した詳細なテキストを検討することにより、この方法のもとではどのような仕組みで原文の意味が理解されているのかを追体験的に把握する。あわせて、解説文中で言及されている語彙や語法について知識を定着させ、漢文を読むための種々のルールを修得する。
・異なる言語どうしの接触のあり方として見た場合、漢文訓読法はどのような特徴をもち、どのような影響をもたらしたか。先行研究の成果に対して講義および参加者の報告を通じて批判的に検討する。
