This course aims to deepen understanding of digital humanities and media studies through the reading of foundational literature and hands-on exercises.
This course covers the fundamentals of digital humanities (DH). It is organized into four parts: “History and theory of DH,” “Infrastructure for DH,” “Methods in DH,” and “Various DH projects.” The course is conducted primarily as a seminar centered on the reading of scholarly literature. All students are required to read the assigned materials in advance and give presentations on a rotating basis. In addition, practical exercises based on assignments specified by the instructor will be incorporated as appropriate.

人文情報・メディア学について、基本文献の講読および実習を通じて理解を深めることを目標とする。

人文情報学（digital humanities）の基礎を扱う。「人文情報学の歴史と理論」「人文情報学のインフラ」「人文情報学の手法」「さまざまな人文情報学プロジェクト」の4パートで構成され、文献講読を中心とした演習を行う。講読では全員が指定文献を事前に読み、輪番制で発表する。また適宜、教員の指定した課題を全員が行う形での実習を織り交ぜる。
