This course aims to provide an in-depth understanding of digital humanities and media studies through case studies.
In each class, the course examines existing Digital Humanities projects in Japan and abroad. Through the reading of related scholarly literature and the consultation of databases and other resources, students will deepen their understanding of the distinctive research questions, methods, and challenges in Digital Humanities. Students are required to give presentations on a rotating basis. In addition, hands-on exercises involving the use of databases and other outputs of these projects, as well as the specific technologies and methods employed in them, will be incorporated as appropriate, with the aim of enabling students to apply what they learn to their own research.

人文情報学に関する基礎的な知識があることを前提としますが、そうでない学生にも配慮します。また、英語の文献や情報も扱うため、英語に対する能力または意欲を有すること。
ノートパソコンの持参を必須とします。タブレットも可ですが、OSはWindows、macOS、Linux（ディストリビューションは問わない）のいずれかであること（Android・iOS・iPadOS・ChromeOS等は不可）。
進捗状況等に応じて、または履修者のニーズを踏まえて、授業計画は柔軟に変更する可能性があります。
人文情報・メディア学について、具体的な事例研究を通じて深い理解を得ることを目的とする。
This course aims to provide an in-depth understanding of digital humanities and media studies through case studies.
毎回、人文情報学（digital humanities）の国内外の既存のプロジェクトを取り上げ、関係する論文の講読やデータベース等の参照を通じて、人文情報学における固有の問題設定・手法・課題等についての理解を深める。履修者は輪番での発表が求められる。また、それらのプロジェクトの成果であるデータベース等の活用や、そこで使われている個別の技術や手法に関する実習を適宜織り交ぜ、受講生各自の研究に応用する力をつけられるよう配慮する。
