Starting from K. Thelen's argument, we will examine the changes that globalization has brought to each country's systems such as labor-management relations and vocational education systems since the end of the 20th century.
Following on from the previous semester, this course will examine Kathleen Thelen's argument. The text will be "Varieties of Liberalization and the New Politics of Social Solidarity," New York: Cambridge University Press, 2014. This book can be considered a sequel to the previous text, "How Institutions Evolve," but it covers a different period and a broader region and field. Specifically, it examines how not only vocational education systems but also labor markets and economic policy frameworks have changed or not changed in the advance of globalization after 1980's. Its scope extends beyond Germany, the United Kingdom, and the United States to Denmark, Sweden, and the Netherlands. Therefore, by examining this book in conjunction with "How Institutions Evolve," we believe we can grasp the broad, long-term scope of Thelen's argument. We will also attempt to position Thelen's argument within the various debates surrounding globalization.

K,セーレンの議論を手掛かりとして、２０世紀末以降のグローバリゼーションが各国の制度（労使関係や職業教育制度）にどのような変化をもたらしたのかを検討する。
Starting from K. Thelen's argument, we will examine the changes that globalization has brought to each country's systems such as labor-management relations and vocational education systems since the end of the 20th century.
前期に続き、セーレン（Kathleen Thelen）の議論を取り上げる。テキストは、Varieties of Liberalization and the New Politics of Social Solidarity, New York: Cambridge University Press, 2014とする。この書物は、前期のテキストである『制度はいかに進化するか』の続編ともいえるが、対象となる時期が異なり、地域、領域は拡大している。すなわち、1980年代以降にグローバリゼーションが進展している中で、職業教育制度にとどまらず、労働市場や経済政策の枠組がどのように変化しあるいは変化しなかったかを扱い、対象もドイツやイギリス、アメリカの他、デンマーク、スウェーデン、オランダに及んでいる。それゆえ、『制度はいかに進化するか』と重ね合わせて検討することにより、長期にわたり幅広い領域に及ぶセーレンの議論の射程を捉えることができると考える。また、グローバリゼーションをめぐる様々な議論の中でセーレンの議論を位置づけてみることとする。
