QA344都市政策特殊講義2と合同授業 |
Students will be able to analyze various urban and regional issues within the theoretical framework of economics.
Students will understand empirical analysis and policy evaluation methods using econometric techniques, and develop their research skills.
This course is a seminar-style study of a textbook that covers empirical economic analysis of cities and regions. As an introduction, we will touch on inequality indices and economic agglomeration indices, which are space-specific indices, and confirm methods of causal inference and natural experiments. The first half of the course deals with the empirical analysis of the economy of agglomeration in urban economics. The second half of the course deals with the empirical analysis of economic geography, covering topics such as home market effects, spatial wage structure, and trade costs.
We will also discuss not only analytical methods but also actual cases of analysis, and practice using statistical software and GIS to enable students to conduct their own research.
Emphasis will be placed on presentations by the students and active discussions in the class. The textbook used and the content of the class may be changed depending on the level of understanding and interest of the students.

都市・地域経済の実証分析をカバーしたテキストを演習形式で学ぶ。
・導入では、経済集積指標等の都市経済学や空間経済学において重要な指標に触れるとともに、因果推論や自然実験の手法等、関連する実証分析において重要な事項を整理・確認する。
・前半では主に、都市経済学のうち、集積の経済の実証分析を扱う。
・後半では新経済地理学の実証分析を扱う。自国市場効果、空間的賃金構造、交易費用といったトピックの実証分析を理解する。
また分析手法にとどまらず実際の分析事例を取り上げて検討し、受講者自身の研究に活用が期待される統計ソフトやGISの活用についての演習を行う。
授業においては、受講者によるプレゼンテーションおよび、活発な議論を重視する。使用するテキストや授業の内容は、受講者の理解度や関心領域によって変更することがある。
