備考/ NotesNotes |
From this course, students will gain:
1) Knowledge of multiple, often conflicting, foundational theories of strategy that will help develop insight into the assumptions, possibilities, and limitations of each set of theories.
2) The ability to define strategic problems, critically reflect on existing theories, and apply theories to propose solutions to the defined problems.
3) A critical, analytical, flexible, and creative mindset that challenges existing organizational, industry, and national paradigms and problem-solving prescriptions.
The course will cover basic theories of strategy through a combination of lectures and case discussions, utilizing the international context of the class members. Students will be expected to actively participate and contribute to the case discussions using their own experience and knowledge. In addition, several group presentations will be assigned to help students apply the theories and concepts to an actual situation.
