Notes

【Course Objectives】

Today, design has been understood as one of the main drivers behind creating breakthrough innovations to help organizations become more sustainable and human-centric. This course explores design thinking not merely as a set of tools, but as a way of thinking, organizing, and leading innovation. By integrating design thinking with knowledge creation theory and innovation management, students will develop the ability to create human-centered and strategically viable solutions.
Upon successful completion, students will be able to:
1) Understand design as an epistemological and practical approach to innovation under uncertainty.
2) Analyze innovation problems through human-centered and systems perspectives.
3) Integrate design thinking with organizational knowledge creation and strategic decision-making.
4) Prototype and test solutions under ambiguity and resource constraints.
5) Reflect critically on how design reshapes organizations, leadership, and society.

【Course Contents】

The course adopts an experiential learning approach combining theory, case discussions, workshops, and a team-based design project.
This course uses active learning methodologies including:
- Interactive lectures
- Case-based discussions
- Design studios and workshops
- Group project coaching
- Reflective writing exercises
- Guest speakers (subject to confirmation)
Students are expected to actively participate and contribute to discussions.
Cases listed in the schedule are tentative and subject to change. Guest speakers may be arranged depending on availability.
