備考/ NotesNotes |
This seven–week intensive course introduces several fundamental quantitative techniques and econometric models, applied to development planning and policy analysis in developing as well as developed economies. Topics covered in this course include the development planning process in Japan, the simple aggregate growth models, the multi-sector model (national and regional input-output models), and the non-parametric frontier analysis model (Data Envelopment Analysis).
This course provides students with a basic understanding of empirical economic analysis at the macro, sectoral, and firm levels in the context of development planning. With an emphasis on empirical economic analysis, the course uses Stata, a widely used software application. Through this comprehensive approach, students gain essential skills in data analysis at various scales, contributing to a robust understanding of the development planning process.

The basic Stata coding skills are required.
For students who are not familiar with the basic programming of Stata, please learn it through Video tutorials: www.stata.com/links/video-tutorials/
This course is designed specifically for graduate students and includes technical aspects that require a basic understanding of mathematics and economics. Undergraduate exchange students may take this course; however, I regret to inform you that I have observed that they struggle to keep up with its demands. I strongly advise those considering it to evaluate their commitment to academic effort before enrolling.
