This class provides a deep understanding of molecular electronic states and interactions between molecules and light (i.e. electromagnetic waves) based on quantum theory.
In the first part, the class covers the interaction between molecules and light in classical and quantum mechanics and theoretical understandings of molecular vibration, light absorption, and emission processes. In the latter part, the class explains several molecular orbital methods that play an essential role in modern computational chemistry and introduces concrete examples of their application (including recent topics such as machine learning and quantum computing).

量子論に基づく分子の電子状態や分子と光（電磁波）の相互作用について理解を深める。 また、量子化学計算や機械学習の利用についても視野に入れる。
This class provides a deep understanding of molecular electronic states and interactions between molecules and light (i.e. electromagnetic waves) based on quantum theory.
前半部では、分子と光の相互作用について古典力学および量子力学の観点から考察し、分子の振動・光吸収・発光過程に対する理論的な理解を導く。後半部では、量子化学計算の基礎と事例を知り、その具体的応用事例を紹介する（機械学習や量子コンピュータなどの最新の話題も含む）。
In the first part, the class covers the interaction between molecules and light in classical and quantum mechanics and theoretical understandings of molecular vibration, light absorption, and emission processes.
