Eukaryotes are thought to have acquired sex independently in multiple lineages of animals, fungi, and plants, and each lineage has different sex determination mechanisms and diverse sexual expression. This course aims to teach students the sex expression and sex determination mechanisms of each lineage and discussing their differences and commonalities, to deepen their understanding of the diversity and commonalities of organisms.

真核生物は動物、菌類、植物の複数の系統で独立に性を獲得したと考えられている。性を題材に生物の性や性決定の多様性についての理解を深める。
Eukaryotes are thought to have acquired sex independently in multiple lineages including animals, fungi, and plants. This course aims for students to discuss the sex and mechanisms of sex determination of eukaryotes and to study the diversity of organisms.
真核生物は動物、菌類、植物の複数の系統で独立に性を獲得したと考えられており、それぞれの系統で異なる性決定の仕組み、多様な性表現を持っている。それぞれの系統の性表現や性決定の仕組みを学習し、その相違点と共通点を議論することで、生物の多様性と共通性についての理解を深める。講義を通じて、ゲノム解析や発現解析についての最新の研究手法についても学ぶ。
