Based on undergraduate study in sociology, the objective is to acquire knowledge of the fundamental perspectives, theories, and methods of urban sociology at the graduate level.
Students will learn the fundamental perspectives, theories, and methods of urban sociology, while deepening their understanding of urban sociology and issues related to contemporary cities through discussions and other activities. The course content may be adjusted depending on the number of students, their academic level, and their interests.

学部での社会学の学びを前提として、大学院レベルでの都市社会学に関する基本的な視座・理論・方法についての知識を得ること。
Based on undergraduate study in sociology, the objective is to acquire knowledge of the fundamental perspectives, theories, and methods of urban sociology at the graduate level.
都市社会学の基本的な視座・理論・方法について、講義および基礎的文献の講読を通して学ぶとともに、ディスカッションなどを通して、都市社会学および現代都市の問題への理解を深めていく。授業の内容については受講者の数、学習レベル、希望などを踏まえて変更することがある。
Students will learn the fundamental perspectives, theories, and methods of urban sociology, while deepening their understanding of urban sociology and issues related to contemporary cities through discussions and other activities.
