The purpose of this course is to acquire basic knowledge for a better understanding of the relationship between science, technology and society.
This course will consist of lectures as well as reading of basic texts on science and technology and society(STS). Depending on the number of students, the first few lectures will be an overview of the STS, and the remainder of the time will be spent reading the basic texts (the texts to be read will be decided at the orientation). Please note that, although the course is called “science and technology,” no prior knowledge of natural science or engineering is required.

科学技術と社会を考えるための基本的知識を身につける。
The purpose of this course is to acquire basic knowledge for a better understanding of the relationship between science, technology and society.
科学技術と社会に関する講義と基本文献の講読を行う。受講者数にもよるが、最初の数回程度は、科学技術社会論の概略を講義し、その上で、残りを基本文献の輪読にあてる予定（文献についてはオリエンテーションの折に相談して決める）。なお、科学技術と銘打っているが、自然科学・工学に関する予備知識は必要としないので、安心して受講してください。
