After learning the fundamental concepts of social research and the characteristics of various research methods, students will acquire the skills needed to carry out the entire research process—from hypothesis construction, research planning and design, to data collection and organization, aggregation and analysis, and the summarization of research findings.
The goal is to enable students to plan and conduct appropriate research while taking prior studies and existing theories into account.
Building on an understanding of the fundamental principles of social research and the characteristics of various research methods, students will acquire a comprehensive set of skills covering the entire research process—from formulating research questions and constructing hypotheses, to planning and designing studies, collecting, organizing, and analyzing data, and reporting results. Students will also learn about research ethics.
Through this course, the aim is to develop the ability to plan and conduct appropriate research while taking existing theories and prior studies into account. In addition, the course addresses research designs that integrate quantitative and qualitative approaches.

学部レベルの社会調査法や社会統計学の知識（クロス集計や平均値の比較、分析結果のグラフ作成など）がある事を前提とします。未修得の場合は、事前に学習してください。
インターネットにつながるノートPCを用意してください。
授業は講師作成のスライド資料に沿って進めますが、一部演習を伴います。
詳細は初回授業時に説明するため、履修希望者は必ず出席してください。
社会調査の基本的な考え方及び各種調査手法の特徴を学んだうえで、仮説の構築から調査の企画・設計からデータの収集・整理、集計・分析、調査結果のまとめに至る方法を習得する。
先行研究や学説を考慮した上で適切な調査を企画・実施できるようになることを目標とする。

社会調査の基本的な考え方および各種手法の特徴を理解したうえで、リサーチクエスチョンの設定から仮説の構築、調査の企画・設計、データの収集・整理・分析、そして結果報告に至る一連の方法を習得する。あわせて調査倫理についても学ぶ。これらを通じ、既存の理論や先行研究を考慮したうえで、適切な調査を企画・実施できる能力を養うことを目標とする。さらに、量的調査と質的調査を統合した研究計画についても扱う。
