【Course Objectives】

A variety of models are used in quantitative sociology. In this class, we will focus on some of these models and aim to learn the methodological foundations and application examples.
In 2024, we will particularly focus on the extended models of regression analysis.

【Course Contents】

First, I will give a lecture on the overall picture of quantitative sociology and basic matters related to the content that will be covered this year.
Afterwards, students will read the text to understand the methodological basis of the model. This year, we will particularly focus on regression analysis of censored data (such as Tobit), sample selection models (such as Hekit), and spatial regression models.
Students will search for empirical research papers using these models and report on them.
At times, we also conduct exercises on implementing these models using software.
