A variety of models are used in quantitative sociology. In this class, we will focus on some of these models and aim to learn the methodological foundations and application examples.
In 2024, we will particularly focus on the models for longitudinal data analysis.
First, I will give a lecture on the overall picture of quantitative sociology and basic matters related to the content that will be covered this year.
Afterwards, students will read the text to understand the methodological basis of the model. This year, we will particularly focus on fixed effects regression models and latent growth curve models.
Students will search for empirical research papers using these models and report on them.
At times, we also conduct exercises on implementing these models using software.

学部科目「多変量解析」および秋学期開講「量的分析法」を既習またはそれと同等の知識水準を有することが求められる。
計量社会学では、多様なモデルが用いられている。この授業では、それらモデルのうち、いくつかのものに焦点をあて、方法論的基礎と応用例を学ぶことを目標とする。
2025年度は、「縦断的データの分析モデル」を特にとりあげる。

まず，計量社会学の全体像と、今年扱う内容にかかわる内容についての基本的事項を講義する。
その後、テキスト講読をおこなって、モデルの方法的基礎を理解する。なお今年は、特に、固定効果モデル、潜在成長曲線モデルをとりあげる。
受講生は、それらモデルを用いた実証研究論文を探し、報告をする。
時には、これらモデルのソフトウェアによる実践について、演習をおこなうこともある。
