This course provides theoretical perspectives for analyzing cities and globalization.
Students will read books and articles on globalization and cities. The class will cover literature on global city theory, planetary urbanization, postcolonial urban theory, urbanization in the Global South, and so forth. The selection will be flexible, depending on students' interests.

都市社会学や開発、国際労働移動やジェンダーに関する授業の履修経験があることが望ましい。

グローバリゼーションと都市をめぐる理論的視座を身に着ける。
This course provides theoretical perspectives for analyzing cities and globalization.
グローバリゼーションと都市に関する文献を取り上げ、講読する。グローバル・シティ論、惑星都市化論、ポストコロニアル都市論、グローバルサウスの都市研究などを予定しているが、受講者の関心に合わせて調整する。
