This course aims to apprise students about methods of environmental sociology research emphasizing local sites. Students will need to collect, examine, and critically analyze literature describing the Fukushima nuclear accident and subsequent pollution trials.
Students will investigate the Fukushima nuclear disaster and the various pollution trials with reference to the structures of inflicting damage and being afflicted as well as the judicial reconstruction of social values. Additionally, students will conduct field interviews and surveys and understand the various social issues associated with research in environmental sociology.

福島原発事故や公害裁判について文献を調査・収集・読み解き、調査・ヒアリングを行いながら、現場重視の環境社会学の研究手法を学ぶ。
This course aims to apprise students about methods of environmental sociology research emphasizing local sites. Students will need to collect, examine, and critically analyze literature describing the Fukushima nuclear accident and subsequent pollution trials.
福島原発事故や公害裁判の事例研究を行い、加害・被害の構造と司法による社会的価値の再構築という文脈を交えながら、環境社会学における社会問題研究について学び、あわせてフィールドでの聞き取り調査を実施する。なお、Covid-19の状況によって、内容を変更することがある。
Students will investigate the Fukushima nuclear disaster and the various pollution trials with reference to the structures of inflicting damage and being afflicted as well as the judicial reconstruction of social values.
