The purpose of this course is to enable students to gain advanced knowledge about the impact of the trade friction between the United States and China, which has been intensifying since the 2010s, on the international economic legal order.
The multilateral free trade system developed under the initiative of the United States and the EU has been greatly shaken since the 2010s. One of the factors that has brought about the current situation is the rise of China. China, which joined the WTO in 2005, has been enjoying the benefits of the global market and has been increasing its presence as a major power, so the impact of its unique economic system on the existing system is becoming more and more significant. In this course, we will take up topics such as state-owned enterprises, intellectual property, investment regulations, data localization, and export dumping in line with the interests of students and consider the US-China economic friction from various perspectives.
The course consists of reading articles in either English or Japanese. All students will read the assigned materials (articles) in advance and prepare their comments and questions. Each time, an appointed reporter will give a presentation on the materials, followed by a full discussion including confirmation of the content.

本科目では，2010年代以降，深刻度を増している米中間の通商摩擦が国際経済法秩序に及ぼす影響について，履修者が発展的な知見を得ることを目的とする。
The purpose of this course is to enable students to gain advanced knowledge about the impact of the trade friction between the United States and China, which has been intensifying since the 2010s, on the international economic legal order.
米EUが主導して実現した多国間自由貿易体制は，2010年代以降，大きく揺らいでいる。現在の状況をもたらした複数の要因の一つとして，中国の台頭が挙げられる。2005年にWTO加盟を果たした中国が，グローバル市場の恩恵を受けながら大国として存在感を増せば増すほど，その異質な経済システムが，既存のシステムに及ぼす影響も甚大だからである。本科目では，履修者の関心に沿って，国有企業，知的財産，投資規制，データローカリゼーション，ダンピング輸出などのトピックを取り上げ，米中経済摩擦を多面的に考察する。
本科目は，英語または日本語の論文の講読と報告によって進められる。すべての履修者は，指定された教材（論文）をあらかじめ読み，コメント・質問を準備する。毎回，報告者が教材について報告を行い，その後，内容確認を含めた全体討議を行う。
