The purpose of this course is to acquire an essential understanding of the evolution of American diplomacy since the foundation of the Republic by reading a number of basic textbooks on American foreign relations.
Takuya Sasaki, Reisen (2011), Andrew Preston, American Foreign Relations (2019), and Charles Kupchan, Isolationism: A History of America's Efforts to Shield Itself from the World (2020) will be used for the reading materials.

今学期は、佐々木卓也『冷戦』（2011）、Andrew Preston, American Foreign Relations (2019), Charles Kupchan, Isolationism: A History of America's Efforts to Shield Itself from the World (2020)を中心に輪読し、建国以来のアメリカ外交の史的展開を把握する。
