【Course Objectives】

The purpose of this course is to acquire an essential understanding of the evolution of American diplomacy since the foundation of the Republic by reading a number of basic textbooks on American foreign relations.

【Course Contents】

Takuya Sasaki, Reisen (2011), Andrew Preston, American Foreign Relations (2019), and Charles Kupchan, Isolationism: A History of America's Efforts to Shield Itself from the World (2020) will be used for the reading materials.
