The goal of this seminar is to examine the background of the Hong Kong democratization movement and political crisis from multiple perspectives.
The large-scale protests in Hong Kong in 2019 have become a serious incident for Chinese politics and international relations. In 2020, the Chinese government enacted the Hong Kong National Security Law and revised the electoral system in 2021 to end democratization. In this seminar, we will examine why such drastic changes occurred by reading related books.

香港民主化運動・政治危機の背景を多角的に検証すること。また、その知見をもとに、自身の研究を行い、報告や論文作成の能力を高めること。
The goal of this seminar is to examine the background of the Hong Kong democratization movement and political crisis from multiple perspectives.
2019年に発生した香港の大規模な抗議活動は、中国政治や国際関係にとっても重大な事件となった。2020年には中国政府が香港国家安全維持法を制定し、2021年には選挙制度を改定して民主化を終わらせた。こうした激変がなぜ発生したのかを、文献を講読することによって考える。また、授業の後半では、本授業の内容を参照しつつ、受講者は自身の修士論文およびリサーチ・ペーパー作成のための準備の一環として、研究報告を行う。
