Focusing on the important roles played by Christian women in Japan’s women’s movements, this seminar analyzes various movements to show how “Christianity” has been interpreted and has functioned in diverse ways, and discusses the challenges that remain unresolved.
Students will collect and analyze primary sources related to each theme, organize key issues, and present topics for discussion. Based on these presentations, the class will then engage in collective discussion, connecting the material to contemporary issues.

日本の女性運動においてキリスト者女性たちが果たしてきた重要な役割に焦点を当て、さまざまな運動の分析を通して「キリスト教」がいかに多様に解釈され、機能してきたかを明らかにするとともに、運動の課題について討議する。

履修者は各テーマに関する一次資料を収集・分析し、論点を整理して発題する。それを元に今日的な課題とも接続させて全員で討議する。
