Intended for students who have completed the beginner level. The course aims to strengthen students’ listening and conversation skills in various everyday situations. Students will become able to understand what others are saying accurately and present their opinions in Japanese correctly.
The course consists of speech, conversation, and listening sections.
In the speech section, students will practice expressing their opinions clearly by organizing their thoughts and paying attention to structure.
In the conversation section, students will review basic expressions and other verbal and non-verbal behaviors specific to conversations (e.g., contracted forms, the omission of particles, and nodding.) They will then engage in conversation practices using those behaviors. Both speech and conversation exercises focus on accuracy as well as fluency.
The listening section will be centered on audio materials such as CDs. Students will be trained to listen to contents of a certain length and grasp the main points and appropriate details. They will also engage in discussions on the contents.

初級(しょきゅう)修了(しゅうりょう)レベルの学習者(がくしゅうしゃ)を対象(たいしょう)とし,日常(にちじょう)生活(せいかつ)における様々(さまざま)な場面(ばめん)での聴解(ちょうかい)と会話(かいわ)能力(のうりょく)の育成(いくせい)を目指(めざ)す。相手(あいて)の話(はな)すことを正確(せいかく)に把握(はあく)し,それに対(たい)して自分(じぶん)の意見(いけん)等(など)を正(ただ)しい日本語(にほんご)できちんと発表(はっぴょう)できるようになることを目標(もくひょう)とする。

授業(じゅぎょう)はスピーチ,会話(かいわ),聴解(ちょうかい)の３部(ぶ)構成(こうせい)になっている。スピーチでは,自分(じぶん)の意見(いけん)を整理(せいり)して,構成(こうせい)を意識(いしき)しながらわかりやすく伝(つた)える練習(れんしゅう)を行(おこな)う。会話(かいわ)では,初級(しょきゅう)で学習(がくしゅう)した表現(ひょうげん)の復習(ふくしゅう)や会話(かいわ)特有(とくゆう)の表現(ひょうげん)（縮約形(しゅくやくけい),助詞(じょし)の省略(しょうりゃく),あいづちなど）の学習(がくしゅう)を行(おこな)い,それらを使用(しよう)する会話(かいわ)の練習(れんしゅう)を行(おこな)う。スピーチと会話(かいわ)ともに,流暢(りゅうちょう)さだけでなく発話(はつわ)の正確性(せいかくせい)を重視(じゅうし)する。聴解(ちょうかい)では,CDなどの教材(きょうざい)をもとに,まとまった内容(ないよう)を聞(き)いて大意(たいい)把握(はあく)や情報取(じょうほうど)りなどが適切(てきせつ)にできるように練習(れんしゅう)を行(おこな)う。さらに,聴解(ちょうかい)の内容(ないよう)についてのディスカッションを行(おこな)う。
