This course is designed for students who have completed intermediate-level study. Students will learn to read texts that require social or cultural background information. They will become able to comprehend the contents while understanding structure and development of sentences. They will also encounter writing styles not often used in everyday conversation in order to build their reading skills.
Students will read longer sentences, comprehend the contents, and be tested for their comprehension of vocabulary. They will also practice interpreting what they have read by explaining the content and providing their personal perspectives. They will summarize sentences, both in class and as homework.

中級修了レベルの学習者を対象とする。社会的,文化的背景が必要な文章を読めるようにする。文章の構成や展開をとらえながら,内容が理解できるようにする。 また,日常会話で あまり使われないスタイルの文章に触れ,読みのスキルを伸ばす。

長文の読解,内容把握,語彙の理解確認などを行う。読み物の内容を説明したり,自分なりの視点を取り入れながら解釈をする練習も行う。 また,文章の要約を授業で扱い,宿題として課す。
