【Course Objectives】

The course aims to provide a solid foundation in the key aspects of political sociology and a thorough understanding of the theoretical concepts and methodologies for analyzing the relationship between political institutions and society.

【Course Contents】

The course begins with an examination of key topics related to the nation-state and citizenship. Then, it explores contemporary debates about the evolving nature of citizenship, identity, belonging, democracy, social movements, participation, populism, and post-colonialism within a global context. Ultimately, the course discusses the relationship between political institutions, social relations, and the formation of a good society.
