| 備考/ NotesNotes |
Students will cultivate essential academic competencies, including the critical reading and analysis of resources required for studying any subjects in different disciplines and fields of study at the university level. Through investigating various topics within the humanities, citizenship, and business, students will learn to evaluate the strengths and limitations of different disciplinary perspectives while mastering foundational research methodologies, such as locating primary and secondary sources and formulating inquiry-based research questions. Ultimately, this course prepares students for advanced coursework by fostering a strong command of academic research skills alongside an enhanced awareness of critical global issues.
Three instructors specializing in the humanities, citizenship, and business will guide students through the fundamental processes of academic inquiry across diverse fields. Students actively engage in defining their own research themes and questions and use them to explore various methodological approaches. The course emphasizes the critical analysis of articles from academic journals in the student's chosen field, and provides opportunities for peer discussion and presentation. Coursework includes drafting short reports throughout the term, which culminate in a final research paper. Please note that session topics and details may be adjusted to align with student interests and the evolving dynamics of the class.
