KA327都市政策特論１と合同授業 |
Students will be able to analyze various urban and regional issues within the theoretical framework of economics and evaluate relevant policies.
With a view to becoming university faculty members or practitioners, students will be able to logically explain the key concepts and perspectives of urban and regional economics, and take the initiative in leading discussions among peers.
The course aims for students to acquire more advanced knowledge and skills than those obtained in the master’s program.
This course covers the basic concepts and theoretical frameworks of urban economics through an exercise-based approach. It also introduces related frameworks in regional economics and spatial economics. As an introduction, students will first observe that economic activities are distributed unevenly across space. In the first half of the course, using the framework of urban economics, students will examine the internal structure of cities and the relationships in scale among multiple cities. In the second half, using models of spatial economics, students will learn how the concentration or dispersion of economic activities can be explained by endogenizing the movement of people and goods.
The course places emphasis on student presentations and active participation in discussions.
Course materials and content may be adjusted according to students’ levels of understanding and areas of interest.

履修の前提として、中級レベルのミクロ経済学を習得していることが望ましい。
・経済学の理論的枠組みに沿って、都市と地域に関する諸問題を分析し、関連する政策を評価できるようになる。
・大学教員や実務家となることを念頭に、都市と地域の経済学に関する考え方を、論理的に説明できるようになる。また受講者間の議論を主導することができるようになる。なお、前期課程よりも高度な知識・スキルを身に付けることを目標にする。

都市経済学の基本概念と理論的枠組みをカバーしたテキストを演習形式で学ぶ。また、関連する地域経済学および空間経済学の枠組みについても学ぶ。
・導入として、経済活動の分布は空間的に不均一であることを確認する。
・前半では主に都市経済学の枠組みを用いて、都市内構造および複数都市間の規模の関係を考察する。
・後半は空間経済学のモデルを用いて、経済活動の集積あるいは分散立地が起きる理由をヒト・モノの流れを内生化して説明できることを理解する。
授業においては、受講者によるプレゼンテーション発表および、議論への活発な参加を重視する。
使用テキストや授業の内容は、受講者の理解度や関心領域によって適宜、変更する場合がある。
