The objective of this course is to help students learn how to use statistical analysis methods in writing academic papers in the social sciences. Rather than simply learning statistical methods, students will learn how they can be used to write papers, and what to consider in the overall process from the research planning stage to completion.
In this lecture, students will learn basic statistical concepts, statistical inference and multivariate analysis methods. In addition to the lecture, students will practice statistical analysis related to their research fields. Statistical software such as SPSS and R will be used in the practical training. For the final report, students will write an essay on empirical research.

社会科学分野のアカデミック論文の執筆における統計的分析手法の活用法を身につけることを目的とする。単に統計的な手法を学ぶのではなく、論文執筆のためにどう活用できるのか、研究計画を立てる段階から、完成までのプロセス全般で、考慮すべきことを身につける。また、研究倫理についても考える機会を設ける。
The objective is to master the application of statistical analysis methods in writing academic papers in the social sciences. Rather than merely learning statistical techniques, students will acquire the skills to effectively utilize them throughout the entire process of paper writing—from the research planning stage to completion—and understand the considerations required. Opportunities to reflect on research ethics will also be provided.

本講義では、統計的な基礎的な概念から、統計的推測および多変量解析の各手法を学ぶ。講義に加え、受講者の研究分野に関連する統計分析の実習も行う。実習においては、SPSSやRといった統計ソフトウェアを使用する。最終レポートでは、実証研究の小論文を作成する。
