In this class, we will focus on nature experience, which is one of the methods of environmental education and ESD, and explore its role and its psychological and social impact. In particular, we will analyse the mechanisms by which nature experience fosters a sense of awe, and its impact on the development of non-cognitive skills (resilience, self-control, and cooperation), and consider how this is linked to environmental education and the formation of a sustainable society.
In this lecture, students will learn from literature on environmental philosophy and environmental ethics in Japanese and English. After that we will examine materials on practical cases of environmental education in Japan and abroad and discuss the future of environmental education.

本授業では、環境教育、ESDの手法の一つである自然体験に注目し、その役割とその心理学的・社会的影響について探求します。特に、自然体験が畏敬の念を醸成するメカニズムや、非認知能力（レジリエンス、自己制御、協調性）の発達への影響を分析し、それが環境教育や持続可能な社会の形成にどのように結びつくのかを考察します。
In this class, we will focus on nature experience, which is one of the methods of environmental education and ESD, and explore its role and its psychological and social impact. 本講義では日本語または英語の環境思想・環境倫理の文献を教材に学ぶ。その上で、国内外の環境教育の実践事例に関する資料 を検討し、これからの環境教育について議論する。
