This course explores the state of the art in contemporary sociological theory through selected readings.
This course aims to familiarise students with major currents in contemporary sociological theory through readings of theoretical texts. In this term, we will examine two works that address the relationship between reason, body, and music, and deepen our understanding of the shared assumptions and key debates around these themes. In each session, all participants are expected to read the assigned sections in advance, after which a designated student will prepare a written summary to serve as the basis for discussion.

This course explores the state of the art in contemporary sociological theory through selected readings.
この授業は現代社会学理論の潮流を知るために、理論的文献を読んでいく授業である。今期は、理性と身体、音楽の関係性について扱う二冊の文献を取り上げ、当該の主題をめぐって共有されてきた前提や主要な論点について理解を深める。各回では、受講者全員があらかじめ指定された範囲を読んだうえで、担当者が内容を文章化したレジュメを準備し、それをもとに議論を行う。
