前期課程「政治社会学」と合同授業． |
This course will study social movements related to food and agriculture. In recent years, researchers have increasingly focused on activities aimed at transforming society by improving the production, distribution, and consumption of food. Specifically, community-based initiatives related to food and agriculture, such as Community Supported Agriculture (CSA), farmers' markets, community farms, and food cooperatives, have spread worldwide.
Why have these activities emerged in specific contexts, how do they connect food and agriculture to social change, and what impacts do they have? Drawing on the findings of social movement theories and food studies, this course will explore these questions sociologically and aim to develop applied discussions. In the latter half of the course, we will focus on the context of Northeast Asia to understand social movements in food and agriculture as more relatable and tangible issues to us.
This course will examine social movements related to food and agriculture. In the first half, we will focus on theoretical studies on this theme. In the second half, we will explore case studies from various regions in Northeast Asia, primarily Japan, Taiwan, and Hong Kong. Each session will feature a common text, such as a chapter from a book or an academic article (mainly in Japanese, occasionally in English), which we will review and discuss with the participants.

この授業では、食と農の社会運動について学びます。近年、食べ物の生産、流通、消費のあり方を改善させることで、社会の変革を目指す活動に研究者の注目が集まるようになりました。具体的には、CSA（地域支援型農業）、ファーマーズ・マーケット、コミュニティ・ファーム、生協等の食と農に関わる地域を中心とする活動は、今日では世界各地に広がっています。
これらの活動はいかなる文脈で出現し、食・農と社会変革をどう接続し、いかなる影響を及ぼしているのでしょうか。この授業では、社会運動論やフード・スタディーズの成果をもとにしながら、これらの問いをを社会学的に考察し、応用的な議論へと発展させることを目指します）。特に授業の後半では、北東アジアの文脈に即しながら、食と農の社会運動をより身近な事柄として理解するように努めます。
前期課程よりも高度な知識・スキルを身に付けることを目標とします。
This course will study social movements related to food and agriculture. 授業では、食と農の社会運動を検討してきます。前半はこのテーマに関する理論的な研究、後半は北東アジアの各地域(主に 日本、台湾、香港)の事例を扱います。各回の授業では、書籍の 1 章、または論文 1 本程度の共通テキスト(主に日本語、時に 英語)を設定し、内容を確認しながら、受講生と議論をしていきます。
