We may sometimes feel difficulties in life especially in the days of the pandemic. In this seminar, we try to make students find a clue to confront the difficulties in their own fields. Some examples of Christian ideas or practices will be introduced as appropriate.
Focusing on some events that occurred during the process of the establishment of “modernity,” we will consider why modernity generates the lightand the shade, and the light for whom and the shade for whom. We will also pursue how we overcome and reconcile “shade”,ther is, segmentation, disparity, hate, and so on in the concrete living fields. Some examples of Christian ideas or practices will be introduced as appropriate. Students will make presentations based on the assigned theme.

授業の目標およびすべての評価方法において、前期課程よりも高度な達成水準を要求する。
現代社会に生きながら「生きにくさ」を感じないことはまれなのではないか。「生きにくさ」の淵源はさまざまに把握しうるが、学生が自分なりの井戸をフィールド／生活世界の中に発見し、pandemicの時代の「生きにくさ」に対処すべき端緒を発見することの一助になることが本授業の目標である。適宜、キリスト教「界」の思考や実践についても紹介、議論したい。
なお、前期課程よりも研究の達成程度に即した豊かな質疑応答を求めたい。

「近代」が成立する過程で生じたいくつかの出来事にスポットを当てながら、近代の「光」と「影」が生じたのはなぜなのか、適宜キリスト教界の思想や実践にもふれながら、「光」や「影」は誰にとっての「光」や「影」であったのかを理解する。そのうえで、「影」の部分である「分断」、「格差」、「憎しみ」をくぐりぬけてどのように「和解」（自分との和解を含めて）をパンデミックのフィールド（現実）のなかに見出しうるのかを考える。適宜、キリスト教「界」の思考や実践についても紹介、議論したい。学生は、議論しつつ湧出したテーマに即して発表する。
