Students will become competent in the map reading and landscape observation methods that are fundamental to geography, and each student taking the course will become able to make use of and apply them to his or her own target research.
While touching on reading methods of geographic information by deciphering topographic maps, students will consider geographic spaces depicted in maps and real ones by landscape observations made in the study areas.

履修者は2023年度春学期開講「観光地理学研究（２）」を履修済みであることが望ましい。
地理学の基盤となる読図と景観観察の方法を身につけ，履修者各自が目指す観光研究に活用・応用できるようにする。
Students will become competent in the map reading and landscape observation methods that are fundamental to geography, and each student taking the course will become able to make use of and apply them to his or her own target research.
地形図の判読をとおして，対象地域の地理情報を読み取る技法に触れながら，対象地域で実施する景観観察を交えて，地図に描かれた地理空間とその実際について考察する。
