Students will come to understand the theoretical framework behind the major data analysis methods used in psychology research.
They will then be able to select the most suitable analysis method(s) for their own respective fields and for research questions that interest them.
As they deepen their theoretical understanding of the methods, students will also practice analysis procedures using computer software, both of which will equip them to interpret results properly and avoid misuse.
The course will cover representative data analysis methods to deepen students' understanding of theoretical concepts, analysis procedures, software usage, and points to keep in mind when analyzing data.

心理学研究において用いられる主要なデータ解析法について，理論的な枠組みを理解する。
自分の研究領域と関心に基づく研究課題（リサーチクエスチョン）に対応したデータ分析の方法を適切に選択できるようになる。
誤用を避け，結果を適切に解釈できるよう分析方法の理論的な理解を深めつつ，具体的な分析手続を習得する。

代表的なデータ解析法を取り上げ，理論的な考え方, 分析手順，ソフトウェアの使い方，分析における留意点について理解を深める。
「心理学研究」、「社会心理学研究」、「パーソナリティ心理学研究」などに掲載されている論文内で使用されている分析についても紹介する。
