Understanding historical developments in the concept of normalization and the basic principles for assistance required by caretakers.
We will discuss “care theory” necessary for caretakers of those with disabilities, while looking at the multi-faceted historical development of the principle of normalization and the idea of human rights and while considering the problems of discrimination and prejudice against people with disabilities in our communities and the social, political, educational and welfare problems with those with Down syndrome.

Understanding historical developments in the concept of normalization and the basic principles for assistance required by caretakers.
ノーマライゼーションの原理及び人権思想の歴史的展開を多面的に検討しながら，コミュニティの中における障害者への差別・偏見等のスティグマ問題やダウン症者と社会・政治・教育・福祉問題を考え、障害者に対する「援助（ケア）の担い手」に必要とされる「ケア論」について検討する。
