In agriculture, a variety of farm management and production techniques are developed due to differences in location and climate conditions specific to each region. The most common type of family business (family business) has historically had certain advantages and disadvantages.
In this course, we will examine the particularities and generalities of the agricultural sector, as well as discuss the challenges of corporations entering agriculture and building relationships with the food industry. And that, we understand the development of new technologies as well. We will discuss the possibilities and challenges of the food industry and market.
Although agricultural management is becoming more diverse, family farm still remains dominant. This course will explore the characteristics and challenges of family farm management, as well as the current developments in research and development of new technologies (e.g., digitalization) in the agricultural sector, and examine the effects and challenges of applying these technologies. Specifically, this course will focus on the main production sectors (Vegetable, Dairy, and Rice), examining the benefits and challenges of introducing each new technology, its impact on related operations (supplying industries in upstream and processing and retail industries in downstream), and compare it among major developed countries to deepen understanding.

本科目では、全授業回数の50％以上がディスカッションなど双方向形式の授業によって運営されます。
農業は，地域特有の立地条件，気象条件等の違いにより，多様な経営形態・生産技術を展開している。家族経営（自営業，家業として）は歴史的に相応の必然と有利点があったが，今日では課題も少なくない。本授業では，農業部門で進展する新技術の研究開発の現状を把握し，農業経営の法人化や新技術の導入・普及の実態について把握し，その課題や食品産業・マーケットとの関係性等についても議論する。

農業経営は多様化が進んでいるが，ひきつづき家族農業が主流となっている。その特質と課題を理解するとともに，現在急速に進展している農業分野における新技術の研究開発（デジタル化等）の動向と，農業経営への適用の効果や現時点における限界を検討する。具体的には，主要な生産部門を対象として，それぞれの新技術の導入効果や課題について，また関連作業（川上部門の資材供給産業や川下部門の加工・小売業等）への効果，主要先進国との比較等を行い理解を深める。
