Everyone has been living in a "town" while doing various activities. For a comfortable and fulfilling life, the kind of “town” one lives in is extremely important. However, in Japan, there is a strong perception that "town planning" is something carried out by a limited number of experts, government officials, and real estate developers. As a result, few people are interested or feel a sense of participation in it. In this lecture, we will explore "town planning" from the perspective of design to increase interest in town planning and encourage personal involvement. We will consider what makes each town unique from a human-centered perspective.
In this lecture, we will touch on "city development" from a design perspective, which will increase your interest in "city development" and your interest in being involved in it, and we will all think together about what is unique about that city from a people-centered perspective.
What is a "Town design"? There are various "Town planning" initiatives in which various people are involved in various ways. This lecture focuses on the explanation of various ideas and case studies about hardware and software elements, development process, and implementation method for towns. Students will be required to create a report based on group discussions with other students,and give a presentation on the "town" of the set theme.

本科目は、5年以上の実務経験を有する実務家教員による授業であり、全授業回数の50％以上がディスカッションなど双方向形式の授業によって運営されます。
ひとは、様々な営みを行う中で、日々、「まち」で過ごしています。心地よく、豊かな暮らしにとって、どのような「まち」で過ごすのかは、とても大切なことです。しかし、日本では、その「街づくり」は専門家や行政、不動産開発事業者の限られた人が行うものとの認識が強く、そもそも興味や自らが参加意識を持つ人は少ないのではないか。当講義では、デザインという視点を中心に「街づくり」に触れることで「街づくり」への興味、自らが関わることへの関心を高めてもらい、ひと中心視点のそのまちならでは、を皆さんで考えてみましょう
