As we enter the 21st century, new forms of poverty and social exclusion have become major issues in addition to the issues from the last century such as the environment and regional conflicts. What kind of role can each organization such as government, private enterprises, and NGOs/NPOs take to solve these problems? Also, what kind of effectiveness and potential can be expected from "collaboration" that crosses the boundaries of sectors that is often emphasized in recent years? In any case, it will be necessary to go beyond conventional ideas and methodologies and reform and specifically realize social mechanisms and ways for people to participate. I would like to call such thinking and practice "social design".
This course attempts to draw a sketch of social design (studies) that the Graduate School has consistently pursued by presenting the philosophical and academic implications across fields and disciplines. In this way, we aim to open up the possibilities of social design (studies) together with the students.
This is the omnibus lectures given by the department's faculty members. Each class will cover a wide range of themes such as: What is social design (studies)?, its philosophical background and meaning, organization/network management, community design, crisis management, NGOs/NPOs, peace (studies), international relations, CSR, social contribution, social business, community business, social enterprises, social exclusion and inclusion, art and social design (inclusive design), and social research, and the scope and fields of target businesses and activities will also be diverse.
This course is social design (studies) guidance for graduate students studying at the Graduate School, and is an introductory course for selecting specific individual research fields and themes. At the same time, this course also has an important meaning of considering how to add as many various specific analysis materials (data) as possible to think about social design. As described above, this course is planned to provide an opportunity to consider how to open up the possibilities of social design (studies) in future research activities.

平常は、毎回のオンデマンド動画を視聴し、コメントすること。期末には、重要だと思った講義に関するレポート課題をこなすこと。
本科目は授業回の全てにおいて、理論等学術的な知見を踏まえつつ、担当教員の実務家としての経験、または研究成果を活かし、教員と学生との双方向の討論を重視した実践的な授業とする。学生には、課題の発表や討論など、授業での積極的な参加を期待する。
21世紀に入り、環境や地域紛争など前世紀からの課題に加えて、新しい形の貧困や社会的排除（social exclusion)が大きな課題となっている。その解決のため、政府行政・民間企業・NGO/NPO等の組織はそれぞれどのような役割を担えるのか。また、近年、重視されることの多いセクターの垣根を越えた「協働」は、どこまでの有効性と可能性を期待できるのか。いずれにしても、その際、従来の発想と方法論を超え、社会の仕組みや人々の参画の仕方を変革し具体的に実現していくことが必要になってくる。そのような思考と実践を「社会デザイン」と呼びたい。
この科目は、本研究科が一貫して追究し続けてきた社会デザイン（学）に関し、その思想的含意から実践的な社会技術としてのありように至るまで、分野・領域横断的に明示することで、まずはその見取り図を描いていこうとするものである。それにより、社会デザイン（学）の可能性を受講者とともに切り拓くことを目指したい。

本研究科の専任講師によるオムニバス講義である。各回で扱われるテーマは、社会デザイン(学)とは何か、その思想的背景と意味、組織・ネットワーク・マネジメント、コミュニティデザイン、危機管理、NGO/NPO、平和（学）、国際関係、CSR、社会貢献、ソーシャルビジネス・コミュニティビジネス・社会的企業、社会的排除と包摂、アートと社会デザイン（インクルーシブデザイン）、社会調査等多岐にわたり、対象となる事業や活動の範囲・分野も多様なものとなる。
