社会デザイン研究科では、教室での対面授業を基本としながら、同時に遠隔地在住の学生の学びを保証するため、オンラインでも受講できる形で授業を行う。なお、履修者全員の了承が取れた場合には、「対面のみ」もしくは「オンラインのみ」で授業を行うこともある。 |
【This course focuses on creative practices that emerge from the connection between the arts and culture—key elements of social design—and various social domains】
It examines how artistic diversity and creativity engage with contemporary social contexts, respond to societal needs, and generate new forms of action and intervention. Through the study of concrete sites where the arts connect with social fields, the course explores how cultural rights can be realised in practice. Adopting a social design perspective, the course emphasises the analysis and development of artistic and cultural practices in close relation to society.
The course begins with an overview of the expanding scope of interactions between culture, arts, and society. Each session then focuses on practice-based case studies situated at the intersection of “culture and the arts × specific social fields,” examining the significance of these initiatives from a social design perspective. In each lecture, current and relevant media coverage is introduced to ground discussions in contemporary issues, enabling students to engage with arts and culture as practices embedded in everyday life. Understanding is further developed through guided reading of the relevant literature, class discussions, and student presentations.

本科目は授業回の全てにおいて、理論等学術的な知見を踏まえつつ、担当教員の実務家としての経験、または研究成果を活かし、教員と学生との双方向の討論を重視した実践的な授業とする。学生には、課題の発表や討論など、授業での積極的な参加を期待する。
【社会デザインの要素であるアート・文化と社会の諸領域の接続で生まれる創造的な実践に注目します】
アートの多様性や創造性は、社会の諸領域とどのように共振し、時代の要請に応答し、あるいは課題提起しているのか。アートと多様な社会領域が接続する現場で、「文化権」（どのような状況にあっても、すべての人が生まれながらにして文化や芸術に親しみ、創造し、参加する権利）はいかに保障され得るのか。社会デザインの視点、すなわち社会との関係性からアートや文化の実践を考察する。

文化・アートと社会の関わりの領域が拡大している現状を概観することから始め、各回の授業では「文化、アート×〇〇〇」に該当する現場の実践事例をとりあげ、そうした取り組みの意義を社会デザインの観点で考える。毎回のレクチャーでは時事的な関連報道を取り上げ、生活に根差すアートや文化を実感しながら、関連文献の購読やディスカッション、発表によって理解を深める。
