社会デザイン研究科では、教室での対面授業を基本としながら、同時に遠隔地在住の学生の学びを保証するため、オンラインでも受講できる形で授業を行う。なお、履修者全員の了承が取れた場合には、「対面のみ」もしくは「オンラインのみ」で授業を行うこともある。 |
What image do you imagine when you hear the word "public"?
We tend to think of public as something that only government and politics are responsible for, but the word itself has undergone changes over history. What should "public" be like in modern society, which is exposed to technological innovation and changes in the world order? What are the threats to "public" that are unique to modern society, and how can we overcome them?
The purpose of this class is to have participants think about what "public" means, in the first half from various texts on public ideals and practices, and in the second half from the concepts and practices of policy design.
In the first half of the class, we will read various texts on public ideals and practices and engage in dialogue about them.
In the second half of the class, there will be a lecture on the concept and practice of policy design, and based on this, students will put policy design into practice (presentations).

社会デザインの実践において、公共とは何かを知っておくことはきわめて重要です。いっしょに、公共とは何かについて、考えていきましょう！
本科目は授業回の全てにおいて、理論等学術的な知見を踏まえつつ、担当教員の実務家としての経験、または研究成果を活かし、教員と学生との双方向の討論を重視した実践的な授業とする。学生には、課題の発表や討論など、授業での積極的な参加を期待する。
公共という言葉から、皆さんは何をイメージするだろうか？
公共とは、行政や政治だけが担うものと考えてしまいがちだが、歴史を経て、その言葉は変遷を遂げてきた。技術革新や国際秩序の変化に晒される現代社会における公共とはいかにあるべきなのだろうか。また、現代社会ならではの公共に対する脅威はいかなるもので、これをどう乗り越えていくのがよいのだろうか。
前半は公共の理念や実践に関する様々なテキストから、後半は政策デザインの考え方と実践から、公共とは何かについて、受講者の皆さんに考えていただくことを本授業の目的とする。

前半は公共の理念や実践に関する様々なテキストを読みながら、これについて対話を重ねる。
後半は政策デザインの考え方と実践について、講義を行い、それを元に、受講者は、政策デザインの実践（発表）を行う。
